This day was a fairly ‘normal’ mission team day until just after 9:00 a.m. We had breakfast, loaded the truck, and took our 80 minute ride to Santa Teresa. Yesterday, I commented on the questions we were asked about members of previous mission teams. That came to special point today. More about that in a second.
Prayer in Belize
Do you ever think about the variety of sounds God hears? He hears worship from every nation tribe and tongue. He hears prayers from just as many sources. And as the following video will show you, God heard some special prayers today in Belize.
We are usually asking people at home to pray for our mission teams. That’s good, necessary, and appreciated. Today, our team wants to invite you to pray with our friends in Belize. There is a special reason, but a reminder is necessary first. Jesus said,
My house shall be called a house of prayer…
As we were about to begin our class today for the pastors in Belize, we started with prayer. That’s pretty normal. But due to conversations yesterday, and their discovery that one of the people they know (Carol) is currently battling cancer, they wanted to pray for Carol. So we did.
I asked one of our men to video the prayer time because I thought Carol would enjoy seeing and hearing it. She will. But something else is also important.
I cannot imagine someone viewing this video and not wanting to join in the prayers of these dedicated pastors. Furthermore, since prayer here is practiced a little differently, it’s good for all to see it and experience it. Modern technology lets that happen.
So as you watch these prayers from Belize, understand these men are part of your family of faith. So is Carol. I’ll be surprised if you aren’t drawn into the prayer time and that’s my intention. Be inspired and encouraged by what you see and hear. But most of all, join us in our prayers for Carol.
Soli Deo Gloria!
