Monday in Belize
Our team had a great day in Belize. We renewed acquaintances with old friends and made new friends. And one thing to share back home is the number of questions we were asked about mission volunteers who have worked in Santa Teresa, Belize.
Conversation at our evening meal was about the blessings we have received by knowing these wonderful people. As we talked, it became apparent to all of us that our Belizean hosts remember names and faces very well. I think they asked about everyone who has traveled with me to be part of their lives. And we will have a special remembrance tomorrow! You will want to see that!
Many of our ROW mission volunteers know young Marciano. We have watched his home be built and we have seen him prepare for a wedding. We saw his wedding pig! This week, we got to meet his wife. Mark visited with them. The pictures of Mark holding a small basket deserve some explanation. I have one of those beautiful baskets on our fireplace at home. They are woven from jungle materials. The bottom of the basket has “wings” and the lid has a handle that is the bird’s head. They are intricate and very well done. There will be more to see later in the week.
For now, enjoy the pictures and comments from our labors today!
