In a recent eNewsletter I shared a quote: Prayer isn’t part of my ministry. Prayer is the ministry.
So much is wrapped up in those few words. Any regular reader knows prayer has been at the center of this ministry. Those prayers have been answered in some amazing ways. But the time is right to take this to the next level. All the ministry work is State-side for a while now, and part of that work is Circle Maker and the circles we need to make.
Several months ago a dear friend gave me Circle Maker, by Mark Batterson. The book has challenged me, convicted me, and motivated me. It’s now time to do my part so you can share those blessings. This post is tagged Reviews and Recommendations. If you click those words (to the right of this post) you can see any/all posts where I have made a recommendation (just an FYI).
I don’t quite know how to describe the impact this book has had. I can tell you this post is the first in a series that will be directly related to Circle Maker. Below are just a few of the highlighted passages in my copy. These few quotes will give you an idea of why I make this recommendation. If you hit the link at the end of the post, you can buy the book via Amazon for about $8.00. If you purchase through that link (full disclosure!), a few cents will be sent back to this ministry. VERY important: I am more concerned that you get the book than where you purchase it! Here are four snippets:
1. Bold prayers honor God, and God honors bold prayers. God isn’t offended by your biggest dreams or boldest prayers. He is offended by anything less. If your prayers aren’t impossible to you, they are insulting to God. Why? Because they don’t require divine intervention.
2. God is not a genie in a bottle, and your wish is not His command. His command better be your wish.
3. God has determined that certain expressions of His power will only be exercised in response to prayer. Simply put, God won’t do it unless you pray for it. We have not because we ask not.
4. You cannot build God’s reputation if you are not willing to risk your own.
Please consider getting this resource. Also, know I am going to be asking people to ‘circle’ some things in prayer. Please join with us in what is coming!
