Sewing Circle – Ministering in Belize
I have written about the Sewing Circle in previous posts. Their work (above) is in the hands of some of the pastors in the Mathes Pastor Training School. The Circle has assisted with previous missions in Belize as well as the Dominican Republic. These ladies, from Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro, have found a way to minister to people at home and abroad.
Creative Evangelism & Ministry
Quilts made by the Sewing Circle each have a tag sewn to one corner. The tag has a place to write the name of the person receiving the quilt. There is a message from the Circle and room for a Scripture reference. What reference would you put in that place? How about John 3:16? It isn’t likely these ladies will ever accompany a mission team, but that doesn’t stop them from being part of the mission!
The quilts were placed in the hands of the pastors we teach. At the end of our seminar on Genesis, Mark and I got the quilts out and showed the pastors how to use them as outreach tools in their communities. So, ROW Evangelism and the Sewing Circle are reaching out in villages all over the Toledo District of southern Belize.
This requires a question: What is keeping you from being part of a ROW Evangelism team? Yes, we do need people who can go. But as you can see, going isn’t a requirement! Be creative and be on mission!
