Many Facets of Mission
A mission has facets as well as faces! We spent the day with Pastor Albert. We spoke about many things and made many plans. One of the places he took us was the school at his church. We met some awfully cute (and shy) friends there today. We also met some that were best described as precocious. You’ll enjoy the pics below!
As we went about our day we covered many topics related to upcoming mission opportunities here in Samana. I shared my thoughts from the previous post with Pastor Albert. As we talked, he said the churches here are very focused on local ministry. That’s good. Every church should reach its own area. But every church is also called to reach the world. When we got the part about the world coming to Samana and that being a great mission opportunity, his whole face just lit up. You could almost see the Aha! moment in his eyes.
A Passion for People
Pastor Albert’s mission is people. The congregation he leads has eight chapels that are also his responsibility. We are not real sure just yet about the relationship between these chapels and the mother church. They could be thought of as mission congregations or satellite churches. It doesn’t matter. He has a big job and he needs your prayers!
For the moment, scroll through the pictures below and enjoy some of the mission faces we saw today!
